Another crazy skeleton painting from yours truly! This one as actually painted before The Courtship, but was done from an actual still life, nude model and all. It's actually my least favorite of the series, but I decided to post it anyways.

joplink But If that was the case..if she was haunted dont you think she would show fear? I agree with dureall. Overall though This makes me feel like I am looking at a renascence painting with a touch of Liquid Blue. (Top artist for the Greatful Dead); for those who dont know. I see that alot in your style.

JessicaHPrince I agree with Wind226, the woman looks haunted! I like it! I agree with you though about models, they can be a pain. That's why I work from photos I love a lot, makes it simpler and lovely. I do use my friends often as models, I put in a good movie and tell them to hold still, It works out rather well, though I do tend to have to bribe them with beer and pizza! LOL!

Wind226 I actually like it...It's kind of like she know it's behind her back..She's tense and she's ready to die...I don't know if I'm interpreting this piece correctly.Yes the face is sunken in a little...But overall I like it...Dosen't have to be perfect...Art is never perfect,I think=~I...The Skeleton does have more umphh than the woman...Please keep posting more art if you will=D

Zulj She was SKINNY!!! I actually lied *gasp* in the painting... i made put some extra meat on her... the whole point of having a LIVE model was to not have two skeletons in the painting... I hate working with models...
On April 3rd 2007 dureall Said:
dureall I find her face to be sunk in. I understand..but you still brought her to life here. She just needs more emotion. So Yeah I see where you stand.
On April 3rd 2007 Zulj Said:
Zulj and to correct one of the many typo's in my author's comment's it should say " was also done from a still life..." all of my skeleton piece we're done from life sized still life set up in the studio
On April 3rd 2007 Zulj Said:
Zulj The reason this is my least favorite is cause the live modle gave me less to work with than the skeleton... that's the look she had on her face, the skeleton looks more alive than she does, but alas. I have learned my lesson and am very picky when working with live models now ( love my skeletons though!!!!)
