You lied

Time Is Up

How many medals can you win,

How many trophies can you shine,

How many disillusioned dreams have come undone?

How far is far enough for you,

What makes a difference to you,

Why do you think you're invincible?

Someday this world will fall,

Someday your life will come crashing down.

Someday you'll be there, someday you will.

When your life begins to fade away

When every day just seems to be empty thoughts and broken dreams.

You'll find yourself staring at a pulsing clock.

Time is almost up – where are you now?

There are so many of them, hanging in a row,

Next to the plaques and trophies lined against the wall.

Maybe they're the Nobel Peace Prize, maybe they're

second placings for county fair pies.

But it won't matter what their merit in this world is,

When this world is over and gone, so are they.

When your life begins to fade away

When every day just seems to be empty thoughts and broken dreams.

You'll find yourself staring at a pulsing clock.

Time is almost up – where are you now?

Maybe if there were medals for saved time,

Or time spent well, we might have a chance

To add them up and somehow extend the time we have.

Or maybe if there was a way to hit rewind

And go back, go back, go back.

But you can't.

Someday this world will fall

Someday your life will come crashing down.

Someday you'll be there, someday you will.

When your life begins to fade away

When every day just seems to be empty thoughts and broken dreams.

You'll find yourself staring at a pulsing clock.

Time is almost up – where are you now?

So many of them, shining gold and silver

But what is their value, when the world itself dissolves?

And how will they matter, when your loved ones fade away

And you're left with another day – alone?

Someday this world will fall,

Someday your life will come crashing down.

Someday you'll be there, someday you will

So

When your life begins to fade away

When every day just seems to be empty thoughts and broken dreams.

You'll find yourself staring at a pulsing clock.

Time is almost up – so where are you now?

Are you in paradise? Are you living well?

Are you still thinking that there is no Hell?

Open your eyes and see the broken pain,

Then you might see the only thing that's worth it all to gain.

Time is almost up – where are you now?

Time is almost up – where's your heart now?

Time is almost up – where are you now?

Time is up – where are you now?
