You lied

Fallen

Every time I fall again,
It's harder than before
to get back up and try to live
this life I'm dying for.

I want so much to make a change
To fix this broken world.
I want to rise and sing Your name
To wave your flag unfurled.

But when I think I'm at the peak
When I think I'm there
I crash back down like falling rain
my sins pulled out, laid bare.

Lord, I make so many mistakes,
ones so bleakly plain,
I think sometimes that I'm just dense,
My sanity is vain.

Why do I try?
When I fall so hard?
Why do I want to stand again,
What will I gain?

Will I gain the mighty mansions
That stand upon the hills?
Will I gain astounding worldly fame,
with all the flaunts and frills
That make up what they call 'the life',
Is that really my treasure vast?
Or would I rather shine your light
And save the best for last?

CookieMnstrChi The end is the best. Did you write part of it and then finish later or did the style just change while you were writing?
