Paper Thin
words are worn so paper thin
they don't even count anymore.
You said them so much
that they hardly have any meaning left.
They're empty, the meaning gone.
When you say "I love you"
It's just a phrase you say.
Because those words are worn
So paper thin.
When you say "I'm here for you"
It's just an empty promise.
You're not there for me when I need you most.
I don't even know if you wish you were.
These words are like old leaves of autumn.
Brown and easily blown away.
They crumple into nothing
With the slightest breeze or stir.
These words have no significance.
They are so over used.
I wish there was something I could do
To make you understand
That these words that are so paper thin
I still mean with all my heart.
These words that are so paper thin
Hold the writing of my heart.
they don't even count anymore.
You said them so much
that they hardly have any meaning left.
They're empty, the meaning gone.
When you say "I love you"
It's just a phrase you say.
Because those words are worn
So paper thin.
When you say "I'm here for you"
It's just an empty promise.
You're not there for me when I need you most.
I don't even know if you wish you were.
These words are like old leaves of autumn.
Brown and easily blown away.
They crumple into nothing
With the slightest breeze or stir.
These words have no significance.
They are so over used.
I wish there was something I could do
To make you understand
That these words that are so paper thin
I still mean with all my heart.
These words that are so paper thin
Hold the writing of my heart.
