A Fight to the Death for Show
A Fight to the Death For Show. (Background. I've been taking Karate for 11 years and have performed in prolly 50 tournaments nationwide...soo this is what it's like :D)
Meditating on the side as the one
Before imitates the dance of death.
With this in mind the time to shine
Primes the body for the show.
I waltz to the stage and bow
Before my seniors, their prying eyes
Follow my every flawed motion, and wait
For the first motion of the show.
Musubi-dachi before I start,
My sweat begins to erupt
The first stance is set and all
My muscles act, and then relax.
As a fluid motion swift and solid
A speeding sliding gliding rocket
The floor moves around me as my foot
Plants and hold a stance, relax.
Softly, motion is calm and form is true.
Towards the end I draw, the finishing blow
As a bolt of lightning would strike a shriek is heard
Where my fist would land the foe would fall.
Musubi-dachi as I end,
My sweat begins to fade,
I bow to front and Hast’ly leave,
I fight to the death for show.
