The intent of the Wolf

It's fur is cold, its breathe is gone

the eyes are shut and its fangs are drawn

the breath is lost and its blood is spilled

the battle was fought, but no others were killed

its ears were perked up and its claws were revealed

its mission was clear but its reasons were sealed

sword wounds in its body showed no hesitation

and the tear in its eye gave no explanation

the tragic loss of a magnificent beast.

it had the heart of a saint would be saying the least

so I'll mourn for the death of an old friend of past

his body is finished, but his actions will last.
