My Greatest Gift And My Greatest Curse |
House of Horrors
a man beats his wife
she dwells in depression
wondering about her life
as love was her obsession
her son has turned to crime
and will surely become his dad
just a matter of time
another woman will be had
her daughter cuts her arms
and writes poetry of the dark
the uncle has stole her charms
depleting her youthful spark
such a tragic family history
as the therapist listens intently
he ponders dysfunctional mystery
while driving home in his bentley
there's only one who can understand
the pain you've been through
one who extends their hand
because they've been there too.....
The great thing about poetry, is that we can share and relate,
and know that no one is alone in their thoughts and or experiences.
Keep writing, for sometimes that's all we have left.....
"If I told you my reality, you'd
say I have a great imagination,
If I told you my imagination, you'd
say I've lost touch with reality"
she dwells in depression
wondering about her life
as love was her obsession
her son has turned to crime
and will surely become his dad
just a matter of time
another woman will be had
her daughter cuts her arms
and writes poetry of the dark
the uncle has stole her charms
depleting her youthful spark
such a tragic family history

| I like this poem because it can relate to so many people. This reminds me quite a bit of my own family history. |
