Hell of a Broken Heart

Memories

Winding down the dusty path of memories.

Hurt, lies, tears, innocence, and well told stories.

Pain, drugs, hallucinations, and fake reality.

Addiction, loneliness, dreams, and fatality.

Wishes on stars that never came true,

Not ever knowing what to say or to do.

Fighting myself and still never winning.

Very broken and flying without wings.

Anger boiling out all other emotion.

Beating others down with devotion.

Finally finding myself with dedication.

Finding contentment and then elation.

Swearing off violence and all the hate.

Finding and accepting my long lost fate.

Reason and purpose back in my life.

Now fighting with only respect and strife.

Seldom do I glance back onto this street.

It's now the future that I'm anxious to meet.

1w1ldh3art4u I found this to be one of your more interesting poems. It paints a very vivid picture. You use imagery quite well. I can almost feel your pain and frustration as if it were tangible. I especially like the line, "Seldom do I glance back onto this street."
