I still love you |
Dad, are you there?
I wrote this poem FOR my mom, she is turning 37 and never met her father. He went to the hospital at her birth and thats it.
Dad, its been so long.
Since I've come along.
Almost 37 years now Dad,
Where is the father I never had?
Actually, where are you?
Who are you?
I never saw,
Nor spoke to you.
Dad, are you there?
Don't you even care?
Do you miss those memories we did not share?
Hello Dad, are you there?
I guess I shouldn't call you,
Dad.
Your not a father to me,
Your the one I NEVER had.
The girl you got pregnant,
was all alone.
You never stepped in,
or called on the phone.
You left us alone.
Eventually I was adopted,
by Grandpa,
And Grandma.
To me my grandma is mom,
And grandpa is dad.
I guess you'll just never be
"My Dad."
I wonder if your out there,
Wondering too.
Thinking about the daughter you left,
Are you?
