Sunflower (Like a)
I wish to be as strong as a sunflower.
A stalk so strong and tall - unbending and unbreakable.
A stem that stands straight and true.
Leaves that catch the rays of the glowing sun,
and profit with more strength fed by the nutrients
of vitamin D, H2O, and oxygen.
A bright head that holds itself high
and always looks to the brighter side of things.
Following the sun's smiles
and keeping up to never look down.
Roots that grow deep into the Earth
and embed itself to hold on,
stubborn but ingenious.
Even when they are frozen and dried
by the end of season it's still standing.
Still there.
Like a sunflower,
I will be strong and keep moving on.

| I love it! Personally I like the detail about the vitamin d, H2O, and oxygen. It brings out the elemental aspect of it all. Kudos! |

| Wonderful. The line "of vitamin d, h2o, and oxygen" kind of pulls me out of the poem. I'm not sure what you mean by "Stubborn but ingenious," as if one cannot be both? Perhaps change 'but' to 'and'? |
