Dead Whales

There…
There they lie…
Washed up and dried on the beach shores
Bone soaked and sunk on the ocean floors
Cut and slashed-stewed in a restaurant
Syringed and blubbered up into soaps and chap sticks
Hooked and anchored up on a fishing ship
Captured and moved into a tank to be flaunted.

Where?
Where have they all gone?
The oceans  now  bare
Cleaned of the giants of the seas
Can you tell me it is  unfair?
Bring them back, please
How  could this have happened here?
They are gone now  and can never be retrieved.

Here…
Here they have died…
Struggled for water on the sandy  lands
Speared upon and raped by human hands
Blubber sucked and frozen for cosmetics  on your face
Starred upon and enslaved into zoos
Seasoned up and cooked like poultry  fools
Wiped off the Earth’s species chase.

Why?
Why did we let this happen?
We lack reason to understand
That our actions cause such pain
Did we not already reap  this  land?
It’s such flaws that makes  us  sane
How  do we try to understand what fate has in store in it’s hands?
It has happened and all we can really do is stare at the falling rain.

Goodbye dead whales…
May you haunt Earth…
Even after humans have failed…
