I do love the word effort

This word, or better this action

That filters active doers from those who meaninglessly bark on

Select individuals employed this word

Maybe the effort level was mountainous

Maybe the level was miniscule

Whatever the level, “Effort” is the critical element inspiring me to harp on

Effort

Something I am trying to put forward now and cannot

Thank you and dedication poems I am no stranger to

And for all the clever ways I manipulate my vernacular

The creation I aspire to create here eludes me

I want to tell you that although you could not get the items you needed

Or that what you had to work with was sub par

You made effort. Real effort and I loved it

I want to tell you that although I know next to nothing about you

You took time, which is a luxury you have not in surplus

And participated without bias and I loved it

I want to tell you babay although our association is young and growing

Your unique effort was time consuming and required heavy patience

Your method was an unexpected delight and yes I loved it

I want to tell you that although it appears at first you took the lazy approach

What lies beneath is the double meaning of what you did and I did catch on

Your effort made laugh louder than should be legal and how can one not love it?

I want to tell you that although you have oceans of circumstances flooding your life

You took time and effort and sought to have fun with your contribution

You know you don’t have to ask for you know I love it

I want to tell you that I see what’s inside you

I also see that brain of creativity going and I knew there would be something out of the box from you

You made an effort that was high in the cuteness factor and I loved it

I want to tell you that although you have a new child and new all day tasks

I see you created from scratch based on an inside joke of ours.

It was as unexpected as your voice was and like your voice I truly loved it.

I’ve wanted to tell you lots of things. To slow down. Smell the proverbial roses

The contribution from you I readily admit I placed in the low possibility tray

Yet you did and it was sweet and without a doubt it was loved

I want to tell you that although you retracted your contribution

I did view it and thought I was going to have a seizure from the rich colors

It was trippy and I loved it

I want to tell you my diminutive friend I know this was difficult

Trying to ascertain what creative way you could submit

Your style was quiet and subtle naturally loved

I want to tell you that I was surprised

Submission done by hand was not considered on my end

Yet it was done and done well and I loved it

Even when you were sick from taking care of your family

You got their sickness and although you did

You stepped up and your effort was direct and to the point and I loved it

You told me that you were getting your wax and lipstick and whatnot

When you did I did not imagine I would receive what I did

It did have your creative panache and it was greatly loved

A new fiend is who you are and long-term friend is who you’ll be

Grilled by your elders to pursue and perfect athletic goals

You took time form your regimen for me and it was greatly loved

A master of double meanings I see.

Your effort was unique as well rather cute

I loved that you chose to partake in it

I want to tell you although you were technically late

You did join in the event and you used your signature style

You’re like a brother to me and I loved your submission. And your beer!

I want to tell you co-host that like most things about you

I did not comprehend the reasoning behind the efforts you made on your piece

But an effort is an effort I suppose and I loved your submission here.

This is not the poem I wanted to create

I wanted to do more.

To be elaborated and tell each of you something special

From the heard and full of emotion

I have not been able to create as of late

The well springs of my mind

Have hit a seemingly impassible dry spell.

And I can’t adequately show my appreciation for all of your devotions.

I feel like I let you all down and though I have said a hell of a lot here it Is no where near what you all deserve.

And for my shortcomings I am truly sorry

I don’t even know how to end this but will say this

I love all of the effort that was put into this

Furthermore I love you all

Please pardon this lackluster display of gratitude

For you all deserve far more than this
