No Colonization for me (For Adults)

Sleeping Truth

So I had a dream about you last night
As is typical with my R.E.M.'s, it occured in lucid format
I saw you ba...... hmmmmm.
I was oh so tempted to refer to you as my baby
Long lived habits are always the most difficult to kill

Regardless of all the efforts

So yes ummm the dream was about you last night
As is typical I stood in awe of your natural beauty
I stayed close to reacquaint myself with your scent
Two separate vessels held close as if attempting to fuse
Perfect is the flesh of u as if never having made the acquaintance of time's will

Though it was but a moment, well aware was I of my situation
That is was nothing more than a facsimile spawned from the emotional depths
my subconscious' version of  a coup d'etat
Successfully it overthrew my prior belief of something I thought long dead
For it is your heart that mine yearns to rage for when those feelings should be nil

I know I don't love you anymore
Yet it is for that empty hope I find my self still grasping

Why is it this Aquarian having trouble detaching?

LittlKiraDemon Wow...this is really great. And stealing the word refreshing from Char, it is very refreshing to read something unique like this instead of many poems on here that are very close to being the same lame rhyming. This is truly great

lisaljb "Successfully it overthrew my prior belef of something I thought long dead!" YES YES YES! Keep reading your own poem... and keep thinking about your dream. Find the heart of it---It will reveal the deep! The Aquarian will find his answers somewhere from within!

AlexINTJ I usually don't read poems written by eggplants, but this certainly is an exception. It's beautiful as always, although it seems a bit rough and slightly off kilter at certain points, but this could be due to the style. I'm not an expert in poetry, so what I'm saying is probably crap. I personally loved reading it - and I especially liked the ending line.

CassieZ this was nice, and Im pretty sure everyone can relate with wanting to detach themselves from someone but constantly dreaming/thinking about that person. nicely worded "coup'd'etat" keep up the good work, and ya know I'm always here if u need someone to talk to :)

ADreamersWorld i actually didn't like it that much. Like it was worded well i admit or maybe not cuz some parts i couldn't really understand but ima go off what these people below me is saying. So yes good wording but didn't make me feel anything visualize anything actually it was pretty hard to read this. I aint tryna be mean but yea. Reading this has got me wondering what inspired this poem? Eh lol no worries though i probably didn't like this poem cuz i understand it. Nice to have you writing again i hope you continue to do so.

servantofall36 Lovely, friend. 'my subconsious' version of a coup d'etat'. I love that. It is interesting that you see that in yourself. Most people do not go that deep. Well done. :)

On August 15th 2009 ThruOnesEyes Said:
ThruOnesEyes What I like most about your spoken-word poems is I automatically usually hear your voice reading outloud :P Good to see you writing again, buddy, even if you aren't inspired. This & many other areas of emotion usually do come. & whoever said we have to live up to our zodiac's stereotypes? If you wanna be a detached other-worldly Aquarii, go ahead, but ah don't wann be no fuggin' inanimate metal-brass object! HUMAN! YOU HEAR?! HUUUMMMMAAAANNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!

So in retrospect, again, this is a nice display of sophistication within a literary-quality'd rawness. Boogers.
