I Pray For Angels

At night when I look to the heavens above
And give thanks for another day alive,
I pray for angels to watch over you
While in the clouds they fly.

I pray for angels to walk beside you
When you are having a bad day
To lift you up away from sorrows
When you've had more than you can take.

I pray for angels to embrace you
In the warmth of their feathered wings

When times get hard and unbearable,
To protect you from all evil things.

I pray for angels to hold your hand
To guide you away from pain,
And lead you, instead, to happiness
Of tomorrow and better days.

I pray for angels to give you strength
When darkness seems to surround you
To show you that you can rise above
And do things you think you can not do.

I pray for angels to always be with you
Whenever you may need them to be
And one day, maybe, when I'm gone,
One of those angels will be me.
