Your Disappointment
I knew I’d disappoint you
It was inevitable all along
I tried to keep my face up
I tried to be your strong
But something happened on the way
I lost all my control
I revealed who I really was
And that took the highest toll
I realized who you saw me as
A winner, not a fake
I knew you looked up to me
I didn’t know that a heart would break
You saw me as a hero
And maybe that’s what I wanted to be
Now you see me for who I really am
And maybe now…you won’t end up like me
It was inevitable all along
I tried to keep my face up
I tried to be your strong
