Innocence

Lost in his presence

Way beyond a broken heart

A life ended unjustly before it could start

She cries every night before she sleeps

Wondering if she will see her Stephen in her dreams

Why did he leave?
Hoe could he not see it was the child that was in need?

What day is today?

She is still on the Earth but has no reason to stay

This child calls to his mother from beyond the grave

She begs for him to know she tried for him to be saved

When he is in heaven and she is in a mental hell

The world is nothing but a caged cell

The denying murdering father

Proclaims himself a martyr

He looks can’t even look at her face

Knowing it was she he betrayed

How does he live without the guilt?

She is sure overtime it must have built

That night with his hands dripping in blood

& her beautiful brown eyes horrified at what he had done

How does he not remember that?

That day she will always remember as black?

She dies at the memory

But wakes up in misery

She knows she’ll never see her son grow up

He will never be able to show her love

This is the way of a forgotten mother

This is the way of an unwanted lover

Her name means nothing and she keeps it that way

And she sits alone and ponders her fate
