Teach 'em While They're Young |
Footprints
My hair whips violently against my cheeks,
Temporary blindness between every strike.
Illumination, paired with drumbeats of the sky.
Teeth erupt into violent tantrums, despite the enveloping heat.
A former emptiness, filled with the sweet satisfaction of triumph.
Salty tears, once upon a dinosaur's back, now heal the formerly unhealable.
The untouchable cheek grasping my face, a beacon of hope.
Lips so virginal, so tense with grief, relax with faith, of a world to come.
A world like my own, its only difference, harmony its priority.
