Kamikaze Raindrops |
Fire and Rain
I must admit, I really never thought
That you, the rain, and I, the fire, could be
More than just a temporary spot
On life's elaborate woven tapestry.
And yet, for two designed to disagree,
We've filled more than I'd hoped could be our part.
The quenching rain from burning thirst was free
Until it met its raging counterpart.
And livid steam from passion did depart
When flooded with the tranquil drops of you.
Two things which would seem better off apart
Have happily made one of what was two.
And so, to nature I would make this plea:
That rain and fire be left in harmony.
