Kamikaze Raindrops |
Desperate
Which one of us this mantle can assume,
This heavy burden take upon ourselves,
To save unwary sinners from their doom -
Drag them from the depths to which they delve?
I know no hero on this weary earth
Who has the strength to carry us to shore.
Were we abandoned at our very birth,
Or is there one to whom we can implore?
Oh, please don't leave us to our own device:
We have no way of knowing wrong from right.
We need someone to give us some advice,
To understand our miserable plight.
Oh heaven, pour your mercy on this race
For all the world is desperate for your grace.
