Drops Divine

I love the way the road slides by
beside the windows of my car at night
and the oncoming cars cast their lights
on the rain-slicked roads in pillars bright

The windshield wipers dance to the beat
of my favorite song, which i've put on repeat
Trying to slow the not-so-discreet
pounding of my heart as i beat a retreat

From Romeo sweet, my handsome fellow,
whose merest look turns my knees to jello,
and who plays my sensitive heart like a cello.
Oh, I've spent too long with him - my father will bellow.

But the night looks so lovely, the drizzle so fine,
when i think that he's soaked with the same drops divine.
No one in the world has a smile like mine,
as the kiss, and the night, and the rain intertwine.
