A test of Colour

Her father stands 6ft tall

Beautiful brown skin, soft black hair.

Her mother, she is short and fat.

Her beautiful young face shrouded in skin.

Her sheer blue eyes against the paleness of her skin.

Herself.

Perfect in every way, half her mother half her father.

All of herself.

And then her grandmother.

Her worshipper who lives because she does.

Irish and morbidly obese.

But this does not erase what once she did say.

‘’She’s mixed race but you can hardly tell, she’s just like one of us’’.

The disgust i felt, as she denied the simple truth
