A fake smile, I smile
As I tell you goodbye
Waiting till the door shuts
Before I begin to cry
Not wanting you to leave
But knowing that you must
With tears streaming down
I’m sure I’ll never adjust
Walking around the house
All alone, every night
Peering out the curtains
At the stars shining bright
Waiting for a shooting star
For me to wish upon
Wishing you would stay with me
Every night until dawn
No shooting star though
And no wish to come true
Miles away from one another
And I am thinking of you
Then it hits me and I realize
We’re not really apart
Because no mater where you are
You are here in my heart
