My Sister

As I think about the past

Old memories unlock

I remember my best friend

I remember her being my rock

She gave a shoulder to cry on

And she helped me to cope

I remember the late night talks

That gave me reassurance and hope

She dried up my tears

By making me smile

We would laugh and cut up

She made me feel worthwhile

Now needing one another

Both our lives a disarray

Needing my sister

But she’s 700 miles away
