A Community of Routine: Boone

A Community of Routine: Boone

Unknown town of seclusion,
Uncomfortable with its quaintness,
Dependent on banks, restaurants and hotels,
Lover of rain, hater of snow,
Producer of over-rated tourist traps,
Community of routine.

Some ask me what isn't to love about Boone,
while I ask myself what is to love about Boone.
And others ask what entertainment lurks in these mountains,
well I'm still pondering that question.
Or perhaps that is all there is to do- ponder, some wonder,
But i have concluded there is more to Boone
that has yet to be revealed.

I speculate that i have had enough
of the monotonous routine of Boone,
spinning round and round like a broken record,
trying to be what it's not,
    stripping people of their dreams,
    striving but not succeeding.

Though maybe one day I'll find some good in
    this unknown town of seclusion,
    uncomfortable with its quaintness,
dependent on banks, restaurants and hotels,
lover of rain, hater of snow,
    producer of over-rated tourist traps,
    Community of routine.
