Lone Wolf
So, what happens to that lonely wolf in the snow
Out on his own
Chasing shadows cold and alone
He ran with the pack in his youth, now he moves with the wind
Finding no shelter, seeing no light
An animal with no instinct, out to survive
The days find more loneliness as an eternal winter sets in
And his limbs grow as numb as his heart
With no one to save him he has to push on
Or lay down to die, the exhaustion finally gone
As the sun sets each night and the moon shows it's face
Memories creep into his head, with out a time or a place
They take him to the past
Where he howled at the moon and not at emotion
Where he knew only happiness
Stability
Security
A time where he belonged to the pack
He tries to leave that all behind now
He tries so hard not to look back
So, what happens to that lonely wolf in the snow
What happens when the world lets him go
Chasing shadows cold and alone
