She Cried

She looks out the window,

Tears wellin in her eyes.

She remembers the good times,

But now how many times he's made her cry.

If he could only imagine,

How much she hurts, deep down inside,

Then maybe he'd remember,

Of how his love once burned so bright.

Been six long years since their wedding night,

But it's been at least two,

Since he last held her tight,

And she cries...

...Herself to sleep,

In the pale moonlight she gently weeps,

"I want to die",

So she tries...

...Thinking of something else,

She knows he'll be back,

It's all become so routine.

The phone rings...

"We need you to come down,

Identify this body.

He was going ninety,

When he ran into that tree."

She could only imagine,

as she hung up the phone.

She was now truly lonely,

Though so many nights she spent alone,

And she cried...
