I don't know if I thanked You for being there that day.

All I remember is how it hurt and how I wanted Jake to stay.

I really didn't blame You,

but it did cross my mind,

because You watch over us all of the time.

I really couldn't understand how I had the strength to go on.

Now I know it was You ,

who had been there all along.

So God I want to thank You

for each and every day,

for giving me those two years before he went away.

Thank You for his lovely smile,

he meant the world to me.

But I understand he had to go,

to be replaced by memories.
