Guilt of an innocent |
She talks in metaphors
What is there to say
When words are long forgotten
And guilt rips at her very being,
She will not break.
Though ready to rip herself apart.
Regret suffocating,
Blind to what once was.
Mistakes unfixable.
Embrace or push away
A whirlwind of thoughts stuck in fast-forward
She wonders where to go next
What to do.
Leaving behind things to do 'later'.
But later never comes
And still they stay in suspension
Scratching;
Sick of lies she tells older generations,
Pleading guilty with those close,
Too caught up for consequences
Which screech at her after.
Sad eyes look upon heavy hearts
Thudding for what she doesn't know.
Still so confused.
A need for closure.
A need for confirmation.
She apologizes.
