This poem was inspired from a line from the song "Bye Bye Beautiful" by Nightwish

 

Blink your eyes once

And see that nothing's changed

Blink your eyes again

And see what God's hand made

 

Blink your eyes once

And see the sun shining bright

Blink your eyes again

And see day turn to night

 

Blink your eyes once

And see the people rejoice

Blink your eyes again

And see those people lose their voice

 

Blink your eyes once

And see the gentle spring rains

Blink your eyes again

And see your friends in chains

 

Blink your eyes once

And see bodies lying there

Blink your eyes again

And see the black smoke in the air

 

Blink your eyes once

And see those flowers bloomin'

Blink your eyes again

And see those petals dead and droopin'

 

Blink your eyes just once

And see everything in ruin

Apocolyptica I like the repetitiveness. It made the poem have impact and interest. Like it kept building and building up into something strange but beautiful in a way. Either way, I like this one. :D

JWalker2406 Okay I know I said Strange Paradise is my favorite but this poem just bumped it down to second place! This is by far your best (In my opinion) I just love it! Cause it's true, in a blink of an eye everything can change, for better or for worse. Really great :)
