The Forest

A boy walks through the woods at night

Every sound gives him a fright

Along a long dark path he walks

Hearing creatures' voices talk

From the trees he hears the voices

Laughter, cackles, howls like a banshee's

Surrounding him from every side

Mocking him like a little child

The boy starts running, attempting to flee

But still he cannot evade the voices in the trees

"Run little boy, Run far away

We will eat you if you stay"

The boy runs faster, faster ,faster

But shadows begin to gain, egged on by their master

"Get the boy, fresh meat for all!"

Chants the loudest voice of all

A tree swings its branch in the boy's path

A stake through his lungs, he takes his last gasp

He is swallowed by the gaining shadows

The boy's remains will never be found.
