Thinking Of Love |
Overdue
The words I need to say to you
Are a day or two
Overdue.
So much for sincerity,
I've given up on fairy tales
That smile upon our graves.
Your innocence is a delicate lie
You hold so close inside,
But why?
Noone here would notice or care
When you slip from the same dream
We all once believed.
Somehow I feel as though
I need to turn away, and let you go
On alone.
I'm as good as dead most days,
And I'm amazed you've waited
For the day that never comes.
The words I need to say to you
Are a day or two
Overdue.
Make of this what you like,
But digest it as you should
And choke on every contradiction.
