Mistaken |
Double-minded
Slipping slowly through my brain,
Silent thoughts of silent pain.
Always screaming in my head,
Makes me wish that I were dead.
Wild and crazy, barely breathing,
Mind is racing, heart is beating.
So unraveled, can’t control.
This silent spinning in my soul.
Inside is chaos, filled with mayhem.
But outwardly a sea of calm
Smiling face, happy stance,
Just please don’t take a second glance.
You might see through my thin façade,
And find that I am truly odd.
Two fighting factions deep within,
Hard to tell, which one will win.
The trying tumbling storm beneath,
Or the calm exterior, my protective sheath.

| This was brilliant! I can connect with it on so many levels that it's kind of haunting. Terrific job! |

| Beautiful. I love the tone here... and the choppy syntax. Really gives it a feeling all it's own. :) |
