A Love Declared

And she took his hand in hers and declared
Her love for him and how much she cared
“I’ll carry you when you’re too weak to walk
And I’ll listen intently when you need to talk
When you get tired, I’ll tuck you in bed
And I’ll be what’s real when it’s all in your head
When it seems hopeless, I’ll remind you it’s not
And I’ll tell you the truth when lies are all you’ve got
I’ll lend you my shoulder when you need to cry
And when you’re down, I’ll lift your spirits high
I’ll be there to catch you when you slip and fall
And when you need me, I’ll be there before you call
I’ll give you a band aid when you get hurt
And when you’re scared, I’ll be your comfort
When it gets difficult I’ll help you through
And when it’s so simple, I’ll be there too
I’ll be right beside you when we’re six feet below

Then she kissed him softly to seal it in his heart
“Forever I’ll love you and never shall we part”
