The Avenue Trees |
The Avenue Trees
The roots reach out,
Like veins beneath the concrete.
A stubborn fight for survival,
Against growing urbanisation.
Defiant cracks grow in pavements,
Unlike a prisoner attempts escape,
More to regain power now and then.
A reminder of who was here first.
