Titanic |
Titanic
Ripples travel on the waves
And hit the side of a sinking liner
Where every boat is gone.
People scream;
Their sould growing as cold as the grave that awaits them.
A baby's wail cuts throught the cries of many,
Stranded on his death-bound ship.
Some sit silent,
Shaking with despair,
Staring at nothing.
Their unshed tears
Glimmer behind their eyes
Reflecting the pain of desolation.
'There is nothing that can be done.'
'We will all die.'
The delivered look back
Hearts sinking as surely as their family and friends;
The unlucky trapped.
For hours they drift
Listening to the cries of the doomed
Cringing when they stop
Knowing they were muted by icy water.
Finally the ship slips under.
A child looks into the black water
Trying to gaze into its depths.
She leans over the side of the boat
Her face as close to the water as possible.
"Bye-bye, daddy," she whispers.
A tear hits the surface of the ocean.
