Once More
I loved you,
And you loved me.
You made me appreciate things.
You made me believe.
When you left,
And my world fell apart,
I cried and wept for days
Trying to cure my lonely heart.
It hurt more than words.
It hurt more than screams.
It hurt more than anything else
You could ever dream.
I wanted to die.
I wanted to disappear.
I wanted to cry,
But then it all became clear.
You realized your mistake.
You wanted me back.
I knew I should say no,
But common sense, I seemed to lack.
I wish I could hurt you.
Maybe settle the score,
But I know I never could,
So I'll let you break me once more.
