Morphine

The feeling leaves my body.
I slowly go numb.
My vision blurs, and it all turns black.
I hear voices shouting; panicking.
They're saying to get me help.
I am lifted off the concrete.
As soon as contact is lost, I scream.
Fire shoots through my leg and burns to my heart.
I don't know what is happening, but I want it to stop.
"Morphine," someone says.
I am instantly relaxed.
The noise drifts away.
I am about to leave and lose conciousness forever.
I feel a smile through the morphine...
And the world slips away...
