Emergency response time
Does it normally only take 45 seconds for police vehicles to show up at a crash? The only logical explanation I can figure for such a situation is that a cop car was already nearby.
I'm curious, though. Quite an abnormal situation. Some guy was driving around 90 miles an hour on the street next to the house (people love to race down it, it’s a nice stretch of road). This was at 1 AM. I heard him speed, lose control, then crash. I went out, saw that he had run into one of the massive trees planted in the barricade and I saw no police in pursuit. I saw no movement from the driver so I went to get the phone to call the authorities. By the time I got back out there, which was no more than 45 seconds later, police cars were already arriving. Another twenty seconds, a fire truck and an ambulance. 2 minutes later a tow truck. They didn’t treat him as a suspect. They all ran up to the door immediately to check on him.
I’m still trying to figure 45 seconds for the initial vehicles.
