Cleansing Diet...
Ok..so we all know that the cleansing diet is where you drink alot of water, and maybe something else, No eating or anything, to clean your system, and you loose weight. But think guys..isnt that kind of like starving yourself? My friend is on it, because her mother goes on a lot of diets and such, and i find it sad. But wouldnt drinking water, and nothing else, no eating, be starving yourself? :/ its scary to know that she is doing that.
Any thoughts?

Fasting is a good way to detox and rejuvenate a sluggish system, but it should be done very carefully. In my opinion, one should only go 3 days on water and lemon juice alone, then move to vegetable and some fruit juicing. Do not attempt to use storebought juices. They are not whole, live food and will not feed the body properly. One must juice their own juices with a juicing machine to gain the most benefit, and ideally the fruits and vegetables used should be organic. Organic herbal teas would also be allowed at this stage. The juicing/tea stage should only last no more than a week, depending on the level of activity the faster must maintain. Then one would slowly add in some whole vegetables and fruits for a day or two after that.
During this procedure, some people do enemas to further cleanse and purify the system. But that is optional. Many wonderful things have been reported to happen to fasters, like skin clearing, eyes brightening, digestive problems being straightened out.
If a person is diabetic or has certain other metabolic problems, he or she should not fast without proper advice from a healthcare practitioner.
