I can't decide...
Alright, I want to write another story (although I don't have much time for it), but I'm not sure what to write! I have narrowed it down to three ideas and I guess I'll just pick whichever one you guys want.
Here it goes: Idea #1 Votes: - A spinoff of my last story, The Witch of Vera Wood, where I'll either follow the story of Johanna and build on the little anecdote in the 2nd half of chapter 8 or follow the story of Tarja and Johanna's childhoods. Idea #2 Votes: 5 I somehow got this idea while reading The Scarlet Letter. It involves a group of Puritans who, upset with how the colony is being run, gather and move north, founding a new village in lands that aren't under the jurisdiction of any European power. The land they settle on ends up being land claimed by the Devil himself, who compromises with the villagers. If they get the land, then they'll have to sacrifice a villager every year or so. Having no other choice, they agree and end up trapped between the sea and the forest they're not allowed to enter. The story itself will follow a child born in this village as he or she discovers these secrets. I know, it sort of sounds like a ripoff of The Village, but I'll make it more original =P. Idea #3 Votes: - Dealing with a similar situation, kind of, as idea #2. It will follow a boy born into an isolated, walled town in a post-apocalyptic world. By this point the town has existed for about 100 years and is deeply rooted in its traditions, sometimes to a point where the freedom of the residents is compromised. The boy will grow up and realize that he can be free if he really wanted to, and tries to escape from the town, which he does. The story will tell of his childhood in the town and of his journeys in the outside world. Take your pick. |
