It would absolutely make sense. My second child seemed to experience extra-unterine culture shock. I think he liked it better inside than out. ahahahaha. It is a transition, which is why I always held my babies alot directly after birth, and even slept with them in my hospital bed. I had c-sections which required a longer stay in the hospital and one of the nurses who was with me through all the births commented that my babies seemed to like to snuggle against the neck more often. hahahahaha. I think it soothed them to be so near and wrapped up close.
I'm thinking babies experience most of their reality filtered through their pineal gland. In the womb - nearly 100% pineal gland, out of the womb is a long adjustment -- a weening process from experience reality like that. That would make sense why they sleep so much.
i have a godsister, when she was little she could not say "danielle" it came out "meow meow" it was so adorable that i told her just to call me that. to this day (and she is 7 now) she still calls me meow meow
