“Don’t worry. We’re only doing the devil’s bidding.”

“You think the devil will reward you for this?”

He chuckled. “Step out of the way and we’ll only kill her,” he said as he motioned toward Sovira.

Sovira stood up. “Are you the ones responsible for this?” She pointed at Markus. They all laughed. That annoyed her. “Are you?” She rose her tone.

“Stand back, Sariin,” the one in front said. His arms became engulfed in flames.

So obviously he could control fire. Another behind him had electricity flowing through them. It was almost as if it was in his veins. Sovira glanced at the one beside him. She couldn’t tell what he could do but his eyes were glowing a crimson red. She gasped as he instantly appeared next to the guy with the fire. The one in the far back just stood there.

Maybe he was there in case we tried to get away, Sovira thought. Super strength, maybe? Whatever he could do it was probably something extraordinary. These weren’t your average demons, Sovira knew.

“I’ll give you one last chance.”

Was this really it? All Sariin could do was find people and Sovira was only human. We’re doomed, she thought.

It started to become cold, ice cold. Sovira looked up at the guy in the back. He was smirking. Could he control wind too? Sovira clenched her arms as the wind blew fiercer. She’d never felt it like this before. It was like icicles hitting her skin. It was freezing.

            “Sariin?”

            “Yes?”

“I’m sorry. This is all my fault.” She wanted to apologize before it was too late.

“Don’t say that. We’ll get out of this somehow.”

“How? Nobody even knows we’re here.”

            “I know.”

As it became colder and the wind blew harder the fire on the guys arms blew out. He looked angry and confused. All of them did. They were all glancing around for an answer. The guy in the very back no nowhere in sight. Where had he gone?

The wind started to pull away from Sovira and Sariin and started to circle around the demons slowly, swirling around them faster and faster with each passing second.

“How the-” the one with the fire ability said.

“Sariin?” Sovira said, hoping she had an answer.

“I don’t know,” she said as clueless as Sovira.

Sovira and Sariin embraced each other. Even though the wind had formed a circle around the demons, they could still feel it, pretty strongly; enough to make them shiver.

The wind was moving so fast around the demons that it was impossible to see them anymore. Sovira’s lips were dry and her fingers and nose became numb. Any more of this and I’ll have frostbite, Sovira thought. She could only imagine how the demons felt. The wind just kept whirling around them. When would it stop? It was so cold that Sovira could see her breath. Her skin was turning a pinkish color, and her arms were going numb. If the demons couldn’t kill them this wind sure would.

At last, the wind began to slow down. It whirled around the demons slower now, and continued to descend. The ice cold pressure on Sovira and Sariin also lightened up, thought the numbness would take longer to fade. When the wind finally deceased, the three demons were clearly in view. Sovira stared at them astonished.

            “Are they frozen?” she asked.

“I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Sovira stared blankly at them. Amazing. Who did this? Was it the forth demon? But why?

            “Um…Sovira?”

            “Yeah?”

“Can you let go now, or are your arms frozen to mine?”

“Sorry,” She slowly pulled her arms away, feeling the numbness of her arms even more now, like a thousand needles. “They are a little stiff.”

            “Mine too.”

They gaped at the frozen demons, still pretty amazed.

“It’s really amazing what you can do with wind,” Sariin said.

            “Yeah, it is.”

Sovira glanced back down at Markus. She was to cold to even form tears.

“Lets get back and explain everything to the others.”

Sovira stood up and dusted herself off. She took one last look at Markus before heading off. That was the last time she would ever see him. She could hardly bare the thought so she shoved it aside as a tear slid down her cheek. She quickly wiped it away.

            Not now, she commanded herself.
