unexpected love ch.31

3 Months went by school had been back in for awhile and me and Ash were getting really close to each other. Gage and I had a few classes together but we still didn't talk. It was a friday night and there was going to be a huge party tonight. The first in a long time. Ash, Me, Layla and Jake were all going to go together. We all rode in Ash's car to an abandened lot in the middle of nowhere. There was a huge fire in the middle and tons of cars parked everywhere. Me and Ash got out and walked to the fire hand in hand.
"Babe, I'm going to go say hi to some of my dudes, wait here."Ash told me.
"Okay." I said looking around for something to sit on. I found a tree stump by the fire and sat on it. I looked around at the place. I almost didn't know the peircing blue eyes staring at me, but I did catch them. I looked at him he looked sad, broken. I wanted to cry for doing this to him.I watched as he downed what was in his cup and refill it. I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I felt a hand on my back.
"Hey babe. This parties cat. Wanna go to movie. I told Layla and they wanna come with us if we go to a movie."
"Yeah thats fine." I said in a whisper.
"Okay. I'll be back." He left and I looked back up at Gage. He was refilling his cup again.
"Let's go babe." Ash said. I stood up and followed him back to his car.

The rest of the night went by in a daze. I don't remember the movie or even going home that night. But I woke up in my bed, alone. I took a shower and walked downstairs and turned on the news. I listened as it talk about a tragic accident that had happened early this morning.

"3 teenage boys were found dead this morning, Alcohol seems to of been one of the main factors in the deaths. they had wreaked into the side of a building and 3 of them died on impact. There was a fouth teenage boy in the car, He is suverely injured and may not make it. He's at the hospital now and is awaiting surgery." The news lady said. My heart skipped a beat. What if it was someone I knew? I walked outside and sat on my porch.
"MADDIE." I heard someone yell. I turned around to see Gage's dad behind me.
"What is it?"
"Do you know where Gage is?"
"No, I haven't seen him since last night."
"Really where was he?"
"A party, He was drinking." An epiphany sweep over me. "Do-do you think that he could have wreaked?" I asked worried.
"What are you talking about?"
"This morning on the news, the lady was talking about a wreak that involved 4 teenage boys. 3 died, the other is in the hospital, alcohol was involved. I saw Gage drinking, Alot. Do you think he could have wreaked?"
"No, they would have contacted me."
"But he doesn't take his wallet or phone to parties, they wouldn't know who to contact." I was burst into to tear. "He's always afraid someone will steal his stuff so he doesn't take them to parties or anything."
"Oh Maddie I don't know."
"Call the police now and file a missing person." I said he pulled out his phone and called. I sat there and waited as he talked to the police, he described Gage's features. He hung up the phone.
"They told me to go to the hospital. They said that the person I described sounds like the person they have in the hospital." I cried harder.
"If you want I can watch Sam while you go to the hospital."
"Okay. Thanks Maddie."
"Call me as soon as anything happens." I told him as he got in his car. I walked over to Gage's house and sat on the couch. I hugged my legs as I cried. How could this happen to Gage? How could this happen at all? Was it my fault?
