                      Thirty minutes later…

Justin pulled up into the parking lot. Cassie looked at him and smiled before stepping out of the car. She opened the back door and grabbed her bag out of the back seat. "You are aware that you can leave your bag in the car, right?" Justin asked "I know, but I’m going to take it with me because I’m getting a ride home from school by Hayden." Cassie Responded. "Oh" Justin replied before he grabbed his bag out of the back seat, closed the door and locked it. Cassie started walking toward the front entrance and Justin ran to catch up to her. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders as they walked up the stairs.

They past Delilah and the rest of her clique on the way up, but this time Scott was with her. Justin didn’t even react he just shook his head and walked inside of the building. Cassie turned to Justin before saying "Justin, you should come to Hayden’s party tonight." Cassie invited. "I’m not really in the mood for parting." Justin replied. "Please, for me?" Cassie begged. "You’re going to a party?" Justin asked in an astonished tone as he waited for her response. "I sure am and I really want you to be there." They stopped walking in the middle of the hallway because it was time for them to go their separate ways. "Well, I’ll see you later." Cassie said just before she quickly grazed her hands over Justin’s hair messing up the style. "Now why would you do that?" Justin asked

Cassie smiled and turned around before walking over to the stair case and walking to the third floor. She didn’t totally forget about what happened earlier that day, but she decided not to think about it. She slowly walked until she reached her locker. She still had time to eat breakfast, but she wasn’t in the mood to stuff her face. She put in the combination and grabbed her book bag out her locker, put her other bag inside and slammed the locker door to find someone leaning against the locker next to hers. She thought to herself that he was hot. He had short- curling brown hair, grey eyes, little facial hair and a snake bite on his bottom lip. She smiled before walking past him and beginning to walk down the hall.

Little did she know the guy was following her? "You are aware that you shouldn’t be outside writing at three o’clock in the morning." Cassie turned around before saying "Excuse me?" The guy smiled before replying "You heard what I said, Cassie" Cassie looked at him with a confused facial expression before asking "Do I know you?" The guy smiled and licked his lips before responding. "No, I’m Michael, but you can call me Mike." Cassie looked at him before replying "Nice to meet you, Mike, but I really have to go." She started once again heading for her class. He walked to catch up with her once again. "So what were you doing outside at three in the morning?"

Cassie stopped walking and turned to face him before asking "How do you know that I was outside at three in the morning?" She thought back before saying "You’re the person, who was in that car, aren’t you?" Cassie asked "Maybe" Mike replied in a playful tone "You know what, Mike, I really don’t have time for your games I’ll be late for class." Cassie replied "It was me." Mike said with a smile. Cassie turned around and started walking once again while speaking the words "What are you stalking me now?" Mike smiled before replying "Stalking you, no. I go here." "Funny I’ve never seen you around here." Cassie Mike said "Maybe that’s because you weren’t looking hard enough." Cassie stopped walking outside of her call room and faced Michael. "Okay Mike, what can I do for you?" Mike smiled and slowly turned around and walked away.

She guessed he thought that it would be cooler not to respond at all. Cassie smiled, turned around and walked into the classroom. She was the first student inside of the room. "Hi, Mr. Gills" Cassie shouted "Hello, Miss Gore." He replied while writing the assignment on the board. Cassie always wondered how he always knew it was her without turning around to look. "So do you have the homework assignment from last night?" Mr. Gills asked as the bell rang." Cassie smiled before replying "I sure do" Luckily Cassie had done her homework the night before in the library. The rest of her classmates rushed into the classroom so that they wouldn’t be marked as late or absent.

The first three classes went past pretty fast and the next thing Cassie knew it was time to join the rest of the student body in the cafeteria. She grabbed her book of her desk in history class and packed them into her book bag before heading out of the room. Once outside of the cafeteria door she stood there. She swung open the door and walked inside. The line was from the other side of the room all the way to the damn door. Cassie shook her head and pushed her way thru the crowd and to an empty table. There was so much on her mind, but before she had the chance to think about any of those things someone walked over and sat at the table.

Cassie sat up and smiled before asking "What are you doing here, Mike?" Mike smiled and pushed his lunch trey in front of her. "This is for you" Mike responded. "Thanks, that was really sweet of you." Cassie smiled as Mike responded "Don’t worry about it." Cassie looked at him once again before requesting that he said what he had said again. "I said don’t worry about it." Cassie smiled before saying "Do I detect an accent?" Mike smiled.

"Oh you caught that, well I’m not from around here." Cassie opened the milk carton and sipped some milk before asking "Where are you from?"

Mike looked around the room before saying "Out of town." Cassie looked at him before replying "Well that just about narrows it down." Mike smiled and said "It does, doesn’t it." Cassie looked at him before asking "So what were you doing outside at three in the morning anyway?" Mike fiddled with his hand before responding "I was at a college party." Cassie looked at his astonished before asking "How was it I heard that college parties are crazy?" Mike smiled before replying "Well they do tend to live up to their reputations." Cassie pushed the lunch trey back in front of Mike. "I’m not really hungry, you can have the rest."

Hayden walked over at sat down at the table.

"Hey, Cassie and Cassie’s little friend." She said with a smile

Mike smiled and waved.

"So Cassie do you have anything wear for tonight?" Hayden asked

"We’ll have to stop by my house I have something that I’m dying to wear in my closet."

"Does this party have a theme?" Cassie asked

"In high school parties stop having themes a long time ago." Hayden responded

Mike looked at Cassie before looking at Hayden and asking "What’s happening to night?"

Hayden smiled and replied "I’m throwing a party at my house tonight. You can come if you want."

Mike responded "I don’t do High school parties."

"Well then your officially uninvited" Hayden replied as she peeled her orange.

Mike smiled at Cassie before standing up and saying "Well I have to go, I’ll see you ladies later." Cassie waved and Hayden ignored him. Once Mike walked away Hayden asked "Who was that?" Cassie smiled and said that’s my friend "Mike"

Hayden said "He’s kind of cute."

Cassie smiled and replied "Kind of, I guess. So have you seen Justin?"

"Yeah, he’s over there with the rest of the basketball team." Cassie turned around and looked at the Jocks table and sure enough there Justin was. Hayden ate a piece of her orange. After Hayden swallowed the piece of the orange she said "So listen if we’re going to do this, we need to do this quickly. Because my cousin’s coming over and I promised my parents I would show her a good time." Cassie grabbed the lunch trey that Mike had left behind and stood up. "So where is your cousin from?" Cassie asked. "Somewhere in Australia." Hayden responded. Cassie placed one finger up and walked over to the garbage and emptied they trey followed b sitting the empty trey on a lunch table.

She walked back over to the table her and Hayden were sitting at before asking "So did you send the invites yet?" Hayden laughed before saying "Who has time for invitations now days?" She stood up, stood on the lunch bench, followed by standing on the lunch table. "What are you doing?" Cassie asked as she pulled down on Hayden’s jean. "I’m sending out invite." Hayden replied before she stomped on the lunch table hardly drawing all the attention to the table that she and Cassie were sitting at. "Party at my house tonight, for address details see me now." She yelled loudly making the whole student body go wild. Cassie grabbed her book bag, stood up and heading out of the lunch room, as the rest of student body rushed over to the table.

Cassie smiled and shook her head just as the bell rang. She looked over at Justin who was sitting with his teammates laughing. She thought to herself "Why won’t he think of me as more than a friend?" she asked herself as she exited the cafeteria. She walked to her next class and sat at the back of the classroom. Because Cassie the last lunch period she only had one class left. Cassie looked at the teacher Mr. Coldwell, Toupee shake as he wrote the assignment on the board. Cassie just laid her head down until class was over. She wasn’t even in the mood to do work so she just went to sleep.
