               Chapter five: Too close for comfort

The final bell rang startling her awake. Cassie looked at the chalk board and there was a lot of work that she missed that she probably would have to make up. She grabbed her book bag and headed to the front of the classroom. "Miss. Gore" Her teacher called after her. She turned around while standing in the door way impatiently waiting to leave. "Yes" Cassie replied as she turned around and faced him.

"There is no sleeping allowed in my class."

"I was really tired sorry, I had a long night."

"Do you have any of the class work from today?"

"No"

"Well since it a first offense I let it go, but next time it happens we’ll have to have a "parent-teacher’s conference."

"Okay." Cassie replied as she left out of her classroom and headed to her locker.

After she put her book bag in her locker, grabbed her other bag out of her locker then she ran down the hall and over to the parking lot where Hayden car was. She was surprised to find that Hayden hadn’t arrived yet. She leaned against the car with her bag in her hand. It took Hayden about five extra minutes to get to the car due to her flirting with guys.

"What took you so long?" Cassie asked as she turned and faced Hayden.

"I had to do something."

"Something like what?"

"I had to get a quickie in the girl’s bathroom."

Cassie laughed before replying "In what stall so I’ll no never to use that one again?"

"The second one" Hayden responded while unlocking the door. Cassie shook her head opened the door and stepped inside. Once inside she tossed her bag into the backseat and leaned back. Hayden put her key into the ignition and pulled off. Cassie turned and looked out of the window as Cassie drove past Mike’s car. Hayden called her capturing her attention. "Yeah"

Hayden turned the first corner. "Are you going to tell me why you want this makeover?

"Hayden, I just think it’s time for a change that’s all."

Hayden shook her headed before asking "Are you sure you this has nothing to do with Justin."

Cassie replied "I’m not sure about anything these days."

"Well you should know now nothing good come out of pretending to be something that you’re not."

"Thanks for your concern, but I didn’t really ask you."

"I know, but you need to know I know this one girl who did that once and she never found her way back."
"Her way back to what?"

"Her way back to the person that’s she was."

"Please, Hayden I can’t lose myself. I’m actually incapable of losing myself."

"If you say so"

Hayden turned onto Cassie block and pulled up in front of her house. Cassie grabbed her bag out of the back seat and stepped out of the car and ran to the front door. She twisted the knob and walked inside the house. If the door was unlocked it meant that Christine was home. Cassie ran up the stair and into her bedroom. She walked over to the dresser pulled out and purple and black strapless bra and the panties to matched and placed them onto her bed. She dropped the bag that she was still holding and ran over to the closet and looked thru each outfit before pulling out a short Black t-shirt and some dark blue low-rise Capri’s.

She went thru three shoe boxes before finding the perfect shoes to go with the outfit. She walked over to the bed and placed the shoes and outfit down before picking up her new pack of grey "Contact lenses" and her sterling silver star shaped earrings.

Meanwhile in the car

Hayden’s cell phone began to ring.

"Hello" She asked in an annoyed tone because she didn’t recognized the telephone number.

"Hey"

"Oh hey, I didn’t know it was you. Sorry"

"That’s okay I bet you get a lot of calls"

"Where are you?"

"I’m on my way I should be there in about seven hours."

"Okay, that’s perfect timing."

"So what are we going to do today?"

"I’m having a party, so dress to impress."

"I do that everyday."

Hayden turned around and looked at Cassie door that had just opened.

"I have to go, I’ll see you later okay."

"Alright, bye"

Hayden flipped her phone shut and placed in to her pocketbook. She looked at Cassie who was carrying a plastic bag. The front door opened and Cassie stepped inside. "Are you ready?" Hayden asked. Cassie tossed her bag into the back seat before replying "Yes, let’s go." Hayden pulled off just before saying "it’s not to late too change you mind." "I’m not changing my mind." Cassie replied with a smile.

Justin’s house

Justin stepped out of the shower and left out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his pelvis area. She stepped into his room and over to the outfit that he had picked for the party right after he got home from school. A white and blue button up shirt and some blue Jean. The towel fell to the floor as he walked over to the dresser and pulled out some boxer. She looked at his self in the mirror winked and smiled before bending over and putting on his boxers. He then picked up his favorite cologne and walking over the clothes that were lying across the bed.

He put the shirt on first followed by the jeans and some socks. He had nothing else to do, but lye down and think. Justin plopped down on the bed and closed his eyes. He thought of an entire list of pros and cons if he and Cassie had a relationship.

Justin sat up and thought about it long and hard before coming to a decision. It had to be a reason for him to kiss Cassie. He thought about it a came to the conclusion that he might actually like her. As he went over the pros and cons list over and over again in his head it showed that with Cassie he had more pros than cons. He decided that he and Cassie should try it out for a little while and see what happens. She wasn’t like Delilah so he was sure that she wouldn’t do anything like what Delilah did to him. "I’ll tell her tonight" He said as he lied back down

Meanwhile…

Hayden unlocked her front door and walked in first to turn off the alarm followed by Cassie. She looked around there were at least fifty photos on the living room wall and the hallway leading to the kitchen was everlasting. "Your home is so beautiful." Cassie said with a smile. "Thanks" Hayden responded as she walked from near the alarm and down the long narrow hallway leading to the kitchen.

"Do you want anything while I’m in here?" Hayden yelled from the kitchen.

"No, I’m good." Cassie replied before walking over to the wall that was covered with photos and looking at them

"Are you sure, because you didn’t eat lunch at school."

"I’m fine" Cassie replied as she walked over to t photo with two little girls on it. "Who is this beside you in this photo?" Cassie asked

Hayden walked out of the kitchen with a bottle of water and said "oh that’s me and my cousin "Samantha""

"She’s pretty." Cassie said.

"Okay, well there was no reason to say I was pretty too because I was gorgeous." Hayden replied

"I wasn’t going to say you were pretty anyway." Cassie replied with a smile.

Hayden mushed Cassie shoulder before replying "oh okay, well we still need to get to work it’ll take hours to make you pretty." Hayden replied with a smile. Cassie started to laugh.

Hayden grabbed her hand and said "let’s go" as she lead her up stairs.
