Chapter seven:
Some words are best unsaid
After washing off and getting ready, Cassie looked at her reflection in the mirror. The shirt fit her curbs nicely and the pants were just low enough to show a brief picture of what she was working with. She knew that tonight would either go greatly or end horribly, but she was hoping for the best. She promised her self years ago that she would never pretend to be something that she’s not; just to fit a guy’s description of the girl he always wanted, or just to get a guy. She was aware that, that was a promise that was about to be broken. She sat down on the toilet bowl and thought about it. There still time for her to back out, but she didn’t want too she would do whatever it takes for Justin to like her more than just a friend.
She stood up and walked over to the bathroom mirror once again to practice her artificial smile, because she knew that she would be attracting more that just Justin at the party. She knew that no matter what happened or what anyone else thought the only person who she actually cared about opinion was Justin. She practiced her sneer facial expression for all the girls who would hate on her at the party later, and then she smiled again. She turned around and headed for the bathroom door. She slowly crept to door open to avoid awakening Hayden, but Hayden wasn’t even inside of the bed- room.
"Hayden" Cassie called out as she slowly walked out of the bathroom with her recently worm outfit and the shoes that she was going to wear at the party in her hands. Hayden didn’t answer so Cassie walked over to her plastic bag and placed the old clothing inside and tied it in a knot, before walking over to Hayden’s bedroom door and sticking her head out and calling her once again. "Hayden" This time Hayden replied, but the way she sounded made it known that she was a distance away from her bedroom.
"I’m in the Kitchen." She replied as she pulled bags of chips out of the cabinet and placed them on the empty counter next to empty bowls.
Cassie pulled up her Capri’s and walked down the stairs slowly before making her way into the kitchen.
"What are you doing down here?" Cassie asked, as she took a seat on the stool that was behind the counter.
Hayden smiled before replying "Getting ready for the party silly. What else would I be doing?" She asked as she opened a bag of chips and poured them into the bowl.
Cassie smiled before saying "Sorry, I didn’t know. Don’t you think that it’s a bit too early for the party to start?"
"Cassie, my parties start when the first guest arrives." She replied before walking over to another bag of chips, opening them and pouring them into another empty bowl.
Cassie smiled before stepping off of the stool and walking over to the bag of "Lays" potato chips and opening the bag and then pouring them into one of the empty bowls that were left on the counter. "Hayden, is it possible that I can stay in your room until Justin arrives?" Cassie asked with an anxious smiled because she knew what was about to come out of Hayden’s mouth.
Hayden turned and faced her before saying "I knew it; you did all of that for Justin, didn’t you."
"So it’s not like you didn’t have a hunch earlier." Cassie said with an attitude.
"Cassie, come on now haven’t you heard you should never pretend to be something that your not. If Justin doesn’t like you as you are then just forget about him."
"I can’t" Cassie yelled as she walked over to the kitchen sink and looked out the window.
"Cassie, why is that so hard for you to do its not like your ugly or something, you’re pretty."
"I can’t because I love him and deep down inside I think that there’s a possibility that he might love me too." The tone in Cassie’s voice had gotten weaker as she spoke those words.
Hayden walked over to Cassie and placed her hand on her shoulder before saying "Okay, Cassie, I’m sorry I over reacted maybe he does. You’ll never know until you ask him."
Cassie turned to her and smiled before saying "Thanks, but I don’t think I’m going to ask him."
Hayden turned around and looked at Cassie with a confused facial expression before asking her "So what are you going to do? What’s the plan?"
Cassie walked back over to the stool and sat on it before replying "I’m going to become his dream girl."
"Cassie, you’re not going to be his dream girl then, you’ll be an artificial version of Justin’s dream girl. If you were his dream girl you wouldn’t have to change anything about yourself to make him fall for you he would do that on his own. Although, I must admit that you and Justin would make a nice couple maybe you should just give him time. Trust me he’ll come around."
"What if he never does" Cassie asked, as her eyes began to water.
"Then that’ll be something you had to go thru to grow." Hayden said as she walked over to Cassie and began to rub her back gently.
"I don’t want to grow without Justin."
"Sweetie, right now you don’t really have a choice."
"I do have a choice and I choose to do whatever it takes to have Justin in my life.
"You’re so blind why you can’t realize that you already have Justin in your life."
"You know what I mean and what do you know, you’re all alone." Cassie replied with an attitude.
"You’re right I’m all alone and you know what, I like that way. I would rather be with someone who like me for me then someone who uses me for sex. Sure I may have fun time to time, but I never regret anything that I’ve done. I tried telling you what I thought was right as a friend, but since you want to get all hasty and rude go ahead, do what you want. I don’t care and if this turns out badly on your behalf that’s something you have to deal with without me. Now you can go up stairs and I’ll let you know when Justin arrives."
"I’m sorry, Hayden" Cassie said with a sympathetic facial expression as she stepped off of the stool.
"Its okay, Cassie, it doesn’t matter." Hayden said just before she walked away and made her way into the garage. Cassie knew what she had said to Hayden was wrong, but there was nothing that she could do about it and she couldn’t take it back. She turned around and headed out of the kitchen and back up stairs to Hayden’s bedroom. She walked over to the mirror and gazed at her reflection. She didn’t recognize the person that was gazing back, because the Cassie she knew would never say anything to put someone else down.
Cassie walked over to Hayden bed and lied down she decided that tonight would be a night to remember. Tonight would be the night that she became Justin’s dream girl and she wouldn’t let anything or anyone get in the way. She closed her eyes for what she thought was an hour, but was awakened by the sound of the bedroom door opening. She looked over at the cable box before sitting up and looking at the bedroom door as Hayden walked inside. It was already eight thirty which meant that Cassie had been sleep for two and a half hours. Hayden looked at her before closing the door back and saying "Come sit down on the chair, so I can take those curlers out of your head."
Hayden walked over to the chair and stood behind it just as Cassie sat down in the chair. She began to take the curler out, Cassie wanted to say something bad is hell, but the Cassie that she was that night wasn’t herself, so she didn’t. It took about fifteen minutes to take all the curlers out of her hair and do her make up over. Once Hayden was finished she walked back over to the door and opened it before turning around and saying "Justin is down stairs looking for you." After she spoke those words she left out of the bedroom and closed the door. Cassie walked over to the mirror and picked up the hair spray and sprayed her hair.
Cassie knew that she had to get into character before she went down stairs, so she gave herself a pep talk "Cassie, you can do this. There is nothing holding you back from getting Justin. You look hot tonight, so go show it off" She took a deep breath before she walked over to the edge of the bed and sat down, before picking up each shoes and putting them on. It took her a while because the type of shoes they were had to be wrapped around her leg several times before tying them. Once Cassie was finished she walked over to the door, opened it and stepped into the hallway.

Author's note: Cassie didn't have to the right to say what she said to Hayden that was so wrong. As far as the outfit goes, I think it showed a bit too much. All the chapters after this one are awesome. I garantee you'll like the read... I can't wait for the next chapter and also since I finished writing the whole chapter from this day forward I will be posting two chapters a time...
