Chapter nine:
The proposition
Cassie looked at Delilah before saying "What"
"You heard what I said; Cassie and you know that I don’t like repeating myself." Delilah said as she walked over to the bed and sat down and crossed her legs.
"Alright well you’re still going to have to repeat yourself in order for me to hear the words that have just come out of your mouth." Cassie said with a sarcastic tone.
"I said I have a proposition for you." Delilah repeated.
Cassie had heard her the first time she just wanted to make her say it again. Cassie turned around and looked at her reflection before rubbing the lip gloss evenly across her lips and winking at herself. "What type of proposition?" Cassie asked in an unknowledgeable tone.
"I can help you get Justin."
"What makes you think that I want Justin?" Cassie asked.
"Please, anyone with eyes can see it. The truth is I’ve always knew about it when we were dating, but I didn’t care because you were no competition."
"Really"
"Yes really." Delilah replied
Cassie turned around and walked over to the chair that Hayden had done her hair in earlier that day.
What makes you think that I would trust you?" Cassie asked
"You don’t have to trust me, but just know if you don’t do something soon you’re going to lose Justin."
"I could never lose Justin" Cassie replied in a confident tone.
"Really, so didn’t see the way he reacted when he was with Hayden’s cousin?"
Cassie thought about it again and Delilah was right.
"And what exactly do you get out of this?" Cassie asked
"Now that you’re hot you have to join my clique. I can’t have you stirring up all the guys"
"No fucking way will I ever join you and your shallow as clique.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no." Cassie said in a confident tone
Delilah pulled her Makeup case out of her pocketbook and put on more lip gloss before popping her lips.
"You don’t have too. I’m trying to help you out here. You want Justin, and Justin doesn’t want you, but I can teach you to get any guy you want wrapped around that pretty little finger of yours and all you have to do is join my clique. I don’t know that sounds like a pretty good deal to me"
"I don’t think so, plus Samantha will be gone in two day anyway."
Delilah stood up and walked over to the door before saying "You have until tomorrow, lunch period too make up your mind."
Cassie’s mind was already made up there was know way that she would scoop that low as to join Delilah clique. Delilah opened the door and left out of the bedroom. Cassie had a lot on her mind although Delilah had made some good points, but she only had to deal with Samantha for two days. Cassie sat back and leaned against the head board and turned on the television. Her favorite television show "Keeping up with the Kardashion’s" was on. She watched the rest of the episode and a couple of movies until the music down stairs stopped which meant that the party was over.
She turned the television off and headed over to the bedroom door. Then opened it and headed down stairs. When she had gotten down stairs mostly everyone was gone. The only people who were there were Hayden, Samantha and Justin. Cassie walked into to kitchen and over to the counter where Samantha and Justin were. Hayden walked into the kitchen after escorting the last of the guest out of the house.
"That party was fun" Hayden said in an exhausted tone
"It was awesome I had fun."
Samantha said while picking up plastic cups off the floor.
Justin smiled at her before saying "I love your Australian accent."
"Well I love you sexy American accent." Samantha replied back
Hayden grabbed a plastic bag from under the sink and dumped some trash inside of it.
"Justin, I need a ride home." Cassie said
"Okay." Justin replied as he walked over to Cassie and stood beside her.
"You guys better get going Samantha and I have a lot of cleaning to do." Hayden said as she held the bag open while Samantha dumped trash inside of it.
"Alright, I’ll see you guys later." Cassie said
"We’ll see you tomorrow in school" Samantha replied
Cassie was so tired that she didn’t catch on. Justin smiled at Samantha before he and Cassie made their way into the living room. Once outside Justin unlocked the doors and they both got inside. Cassie put on her seat belt and waited for Justin to put on his. Justin put the key into the ignition and started the car before pulling off.
"So what did you think of Samantha?" He asked in an excited tone
"She’s okay I guess." Cassie said in a tone that made it known that she didn’t want to talk about her.
"I really like her." Justin said with a smile
"Justin, you don’t even know her enough to like her, plus you shouldn’t get attached to someone who will be leave in a few days anyway." Cassie said in an annoyed tone.
"Where is she going?" Justin asked in an astonished tone
"Back to Australia"
"That’s funny because she told me that she’s moving in with Hayden."
"What" Cassie asked in a confused tone in her voice?
"She’s living with Hayden; the rest of her things will arrive tomorrow.
Cassie thought to herself "No, no, no, no, no, hell no." The proposition that Delilah had given her was becoming sweeter and sweeter by the second. Cassie turned around and looked out of the passenger’s side window. Cassie had thought that Samantha would be there for a few days, but she moved in with Hayden. Cassie knew that wasn’t good for her because everyone could see that the chemistry between Justin and Samantha it’s totally recognizable. Cassie didn’t say anything to Justin the whole ride home and inside of Justin’s car she came to the conclusion that she would be driving her own self to school from now on because she didn’t want to spend a whole car ride talking about Samantha.
Justin pulled up in front of Cassie’s house and let her out. Cassie unbuckled her seatbelt and stepped out of the car without saying goodbye. She basically did everything she did for nothing. She only had a brief moment of recognition, but she refused to give up. Cassie walked up the path leading to her front door, grabbed the key from under the flower pot on the side of the porch, unlocked the door and walked inside. Once she closed her front door, leaned against it, because she knew what she had to do, she had take Delilah up on her proposition.
