Have you ever seen a rainbow at night?
Ever since I had that dream I’ve always wondered if it is possible, if you can really stare at the midnight universe and see those seven colors full of joy, hope, and happiness. Every day since I had that dream I’ve waited under the full moon, the stars bathing me with their soft and peaceful shine. I waited for my hero. A gleaming knight that would come directly out of heaven and save me, take away all my pain. A man that will make to me the promise every girl desires deep in her heart, the promise of eternal love. I’ve spend all my life alone, hidden in the cold and dark corners of solitude, waiting for him. I’m starting to wonder if it will ever happen. I’m starting to wonder if he is really out there searching for me. My heart craves for me to go on, to keep waiting, to never lose hope. But my soul cries for me to stop, to give up, to forget about this impossible illusion. All I know is that in my dream he was real, in my dream he was there, smiling under the midnight rainbow, reaching for me with his hand full of salvation and happiness. So here I am once again, waiting under the full moon. I still don’t know if he does exists or if he is just an illusion, like a rainbow shining during the night, mocking me with the promise he never made.
Alexis Hale is a 16 year old girl who lives a very unusual and difficult life. When she was 5 years old she had her first dream. When she woke up she was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to tell her parents what she just saw. Jumping out of bed she ran as quickly as possible to her parents’ bedroom. But when she opened the door she found a completely different scenery. Both her parents where dead, laying over a pool of their own blood.
Soon after the terrible incident, she was send to a foster house where she was put into adoption. There she grew up with many other kids who were orphans, just like her, waiting for a nice family to take them to their new homes. But Alexis was never adopted, she grew up watching her dear friends disappearing out of her life and into a better one.
Alexis grew up without the company of kids her age, because she never went to a normal school. She was home schooled at the foster house; and she was the oldest in the house at sixteen years old. She always took care of her younger siblings. But thanks to that she never had the chance or time to meet a single boy old enough to date her, so Alexis is yet to have her first kiss.
One of the things she desires the most is to find the first love of her life, but she thinks that it will never happen. With time she has lost all hope, and had gotten the idea that love doesn’t exists. But one day Zack, her favorite little brother and second oldest in the house –been only ten years old- asks her to convince the owners of the foster house to let them go in a road trip to this year’s carnival. There, at the carnival; late at midnight she sees this handsome young man. A young magician traveling with the carnival, his name is Brandon. Brandon was performing his favorite magic trick, where he makes a rainbow appear out of nowhere and shine beautifully during the night. There, at that moment, Alexis knew who he was; he was the boy of her dreams…literally. She falls deeply in love with him, he never leaves her mind and thoughts. But what she doesn’t know is that there’s more to Brandon than meets the eye and that he holds the key that reveals exactly what happened the night of her parents’ death.
