Nocturnal Visions - Chapter 1

Personal Created on 9-13-09 Views(22) Story Rating PG13

I can still remember the scent of rain coming unto my skin; I can sense the future, silently easing into my intuition. The clouds were dark, and the humidity was light. It was a cool temperature, but that wasn't a major. The lightning was certainly making its grounds, but somehow, I felt safe. The cold, dense grass rushed through my feet with every step I took. Ignoring the sense that something had the pleasure of watching me, I walked down to the street light. You could see the countless insects flying around the luminescence. The many vigorous bats hunted those insects. If you were to turn around, you would see half a moon.

I dwell in an average home, but that isn't where my imagination lies. That goes beyond what one would call simple, and my thoughts venture even further. I can taste the endless night before me. This, in my world, is not Earth. I was chosen to be in my imaginings. What I long for the most? Freedom and love... I put all of my thoughts aside and ran as fast as I could. The figure was tall, muscular, and the scariest? Growling. I noticed its fur before I ran, but the eyes struck the most fear into me. They were like a human's, only silver. I could feel the influence of it's prescence as I dashed across the streetlit yards. Then... it was gone. I turned to go back home, and immediately, I was forced to the ground. I fought as hard as I could before I was bitten and mauled. The pain was almost unreal, until it spread. I was convulsing as my hands grew. My voice changed. I could feel my vision enhance. Every changing detail was agonizing. During my excruciating transformation, the beast watched closely with it's silver irises. The enhancation of my vision looked like the entire picture I saw lit up slightly, and became more colorful. I could now see what lurked in the shadows. I stood up, and though my human body was still intact, I couldn't feel my heart beat, and my respiration rate increased by twenty percent. The beast ran behind the tree, and a human emerged.

He had black hair, grey eyes, and appeared thin and muscular. "Follow me." He took my arm in a tight grip, and dragged me into the woods. I finally began to speak "What if I-?" He growled loudly with a angry look in his glowing eyes before I could finish my worried question. I didn't know what to think as he led me deeper into the wooded hills. As the elevation of the forest rose, I finally came to my senses; I tried to free my arm of his grasp, but he was too strong, and didn't even bother to stop walking. "Who the hell are you, and where are you taking me?!" He didn't answer.
