C H A P T E R  6

Cindy glanced around the classroom and sighed at the thought that she was probably the only person in the world staying after school on a Friday.

Ms.Mcaden walked into the classroom and casted a sheepish smile towards Cindy.

'' You have one hour to complete the Chemistry test ''

'' Ok '' Cindy murmured, looking through the test.

Ah , this is fairly easy she thought to herself.

'' Jordan ! '' Ms.Mcaden complained loudly and glanced at her watch '' Your 25 minutes late ''

Jordan shrugged and sat behind Cindy '' Sorry '' he murmured , playing with his pencil.

'' Here '' Ms.Mcaden put the test on his table '' Jordan , you have around 30 minutes to complete the test. You should have come on time '' she slid

her red framed glasses to the tip of her nose and looked into his eyes '' Don’t come late again young man''

'' Yes Ms.Mcaden '' Jordan groaned.

Ms.Mcaden glanced at her watch '' You have 15 minutes left '' she she mumbled.

 '' I'll be back in a minute '' she added and left the classroom.

Seconds later Jordan had completed his test and was satisfied. He impatiently tapped his pencil on the table.

Cindy glanced at the clock , 10 minutes left , she panicked - she was stuck on the last question.

Displacement reaction ? It didn’t ring any bells.

She frowned and chewed on her pencil , she was unable to think - actually the only thing she could think about was food.

Not surprising considering that she had been on a strict diet for the last two days.

She turned around on her chair and whispered '' Hey ''

Jordan didn’t answer , she rolled her eyes and hissed '' Psst ,  you .. ''

 '' Yes ? ''

'' Umm , well '' Cindy started and flicked her long blonde hair '' The last question. Can you help me? ''

'' Displacement reaction is when a more reactive element like Magnesium displaces a less reactive element like Copper''

'' Uh , okay ... '' Cindy answered , still confused.

Jordan chuckled '' Look , it's like a girl is in the club. She's fine alright , and she's the centre of attention'' He thought for a second ''  Until you enter the room and you steal the show , replacing her. The same way a more reactive element displaces a less reactive ''

'' That  makes perfectly sense ''  Cindy answered smiling.

She turned around on her chair ,facing her test and scribbled down the answer.

 '' Finished'' she cheered.

She turned around facing Jordan  ''  Thanks''

'' Nemas problemas '' he answered.

Cindy glanced at the clock'' 5 minutes left '' she murmured , trying to be social.

''  So , what’s your name ?''

His mouth dropped , he rolled his eyes and laughed '' Jordan . I doubt you didn’t know that ''

'' What , am I supposed to know who you are ? '' Cindy replied gazing into his dark brown eyes.

He tapped his pencil on the table '' Ms.Mcaden mentioned my name like 10 times ''

 '' Oh '' she purred innocently '' Wasn’t paying attention ''

'' I guess what they say about you  is true '' Jordan said.

Cindy leaned forward and eyed Jordan ; his dark complexion and chocolate coloured eyes.

'' What do they say about me ?''

'' Bitchy , arrogant , self-centred '' he snorted.

Cindy’s mouth dropped, lost for word she stuttered '' D-dont be so disrespectful''

He shrugged '' You asked for it ''

Ms.Mcaden rushed into the classroom and put a pile of papers on her desk.

'' Finished? '' she asked.

'' Y-yup '' Cindy answered, standing up.

'' Good '' Ms.Mcaden said satisfied , '' And you , Jordan ? '' she asked .

'' Yes Mam '' he answered .

'' It wasn’t so hard, was it? '' Ms.Mcaden asked, smiling.

'' Nah... Chemistry is fairly easy '' Jordan answered.

Cindy nodded as a reply, on her way out of her classroom she sighed.

Unfortunately, the chemistry between Cindy and her boyfriend George was complicated.
